I think a rule of thumb is, the minimum specs are the minimum. It'll run KSP, but it might not run the way you want it. Hell, I have an i5 and a 1060 and my PC just melts if my crafts are more than about 300 parts.

I think a rule of thumb is, devs over state requirements by a safe "healthy" margin.

I'm looking at a socket 940 (am2/am2+) with a A64 FX-57 cpu and 4gb ddr2 pc2-8000 (1000mhz) ram, GPU is a ATI (now AMD) 2600XT 1GB gddr3 OS Windows 2000 (blackcat'ed extended + DX9c) THAT RUNS, last tested, KSP v1.3.1 & v1.4.5...just fine

I'm trying it on Windows 98SE & ME next

Well, no one should ever need anything above 1.3.1 so I guess you're right!

Well if your RP1 yep, for "last 32bit update" its KSP v1.4.5, if you want the latest of everything "possible" on 32bit

in case I didnt write clearly (i have that issue)

my personal interest is "32bit user support", on:

  • Windows 2000 & XP  32bit
  • 32bit Intel Cole solo/duo (the only 2 intel mac cpus that are 32bit) mac users on Mac OS High Sierra to Mojave (via 3rd party patch)
  • 32bit linux users of Ubuntu, RH, Debian, SUSE, ARCH based distros (other than gentoo I think these are the last with "true 32bit" versions)

As no one else really handles it I think. And with 32bit executable for versions past 1.4.5.... there are a small subet of niche users or ppl with really old hardware left out
