So... I had an idea. The idea is simple but can grow very complex. The idea is to take ideas from replies to this thread for a story-based space program that is run and flown by me. Watching and loving EnterElysium's World War K, Viking Space Program, and other story-based series'. Having lost a lot of interest in KSP recently has made me upset.

I want to return to the roots of KSP, and I want to bring you all with me. So give ideas for what the Space Program should do first, the enemy of the program if there is one, and where to go. I have HyperEdit, to I can put any planet close to eachother.

Please. Put ideas for the first action of this program. This isn't my program, nor yours. It's the forums, and everyone who has an idea or even a challenge to put on me personally. I am fine with any idea. I will try to post as often as possible. Most of the time it will be 1 post a day on the weekdays unless I am busy, and 2-3 a day on weekends. Thank you, and enjoy!

Rules:

No giant jumps in difficulty (Starting the program off by going to Eeloo!)

No planet busting

2 base maximum on each planet/moon (Lag inducing nightmare)

No running on edge of pool

The problem is, a rivaling space program is trying to mine the same moons for profit which would eventually make colonizing more difficult and deplete the resources that the Space Centre could use to sustain a well founded Joolian colony. Tell me what you think! ^^

Well! That's quite a great idea! I can do that to, but will also need ideas for crafts, base designs, and conflicts between programs. Thanks for replying so quickly!

You're very welcome! Bases I'm no good at, but I may be able to help with the ships and conflicts.

I think the opposing space program would be an industrial one. They don't care very much for building space bases that will last a long time. They just want to get there, mine what they need, and leave behind the remnants of drills and temporary living spaces.

Sounds like a solid idea. I am planning on making to series 100% legit, but I think a private mission to the planets without screenshots except for the leftover equipment would be good. The series is only focusing on the missions of the Forum Space Program (Still looking for a name) while they follow the story line and explore the bolar system. Also, no need for sending designs in, though it would be neat to involve the crafts sent in for purposes, and every single craft I make I will put up for download.

Sounds awesome! I was thinking that I could take screenshots of designs for you to base the designs in the series off of (if that makes sense?).

Also, I think a name that might be good would be: The United Space Program of the Kerbonaut (Although, that may be a bit too long tbh)

After many long years of economic growth, the USP, famous for in-atmosphere flights for military development, a new problem besides war has appeared: Planetary destruction. With a loss of resources on Kerbin, the damage has already been done. After months of planetary analysis, multiple moons of Jool have been found habitable. With the newly found technologies, the USP has been able to gain funding and resources. Starting off by a simple unmanned launch.

With the small, efficient launch on the KB-Solar Wing is used to guide later missions in the Kerbin System.

The large electronic devices allow quick and efficient transmission of data.

A short launch is quickly prepared for the USP, while Doodrick Kerman is prepared for a launch to survey to Mun. Landing on the Mun and the distant moon Minmus will allow more technological advancements to travel to the Joovan moons.

The plan is the travel to the Mun and orbit for a few days, taking record of long exposure to Zero-Gravity. After those few days, a landing will take place and the surface surveyed.

Please give more ideas and suggestions for the United Space Program. The viewers and the readers decide, as this isn't my space program. This is our space program. Thanks for reading, and keep the ideas coming!

I was actually planning for the Mun to be the first notice of the other company, but I can do Minmus. Also, Jupiter has Jovan Moons, so I just assume Jool and Joovan Moons.

As the time for the Mun landing approaches, Doodrick Kerman burns retrograde to land on the munar surface. With the stability modules activated, the landing is made simply and quickly.

As the Lunmar MK I lander approaches the munar surface, a small signal is heard from the surface.

"Drilling process 200%, 250%, 30– ERROR. ERROR. SATELLITE APPROACHING. SATELLITE APPROACHING. EMERGANCY DEACTIVATION IN 3... 2... 1... SYSTEM POWERED DOWN."

A puzzled Doodrick checks his signal to make sure of no communication error with mission control. The signal is definately coming from the surface. He completes the landing procedure and plants his flag, shuddering as he sees what lies before him.

When approached, the large drill is seen glowing red from friction, as only mere minutes ago it was turning, destroying the rock underneath it.

Imprinted on the landing legs is the logo 'ÄAU Corp.' The company used for drilling resources. Thought to only be drilling on Kerbin, Doodrick shakes in fear, as it may be too late for the United Space Program.

The shaken up kerbonaut goes back to the Lunmar lander to travel back to Kerbin, bringing surface samples, photographs, and a dark secret.

The United Space Program has come far in their short time in existence, and problems have already ensued. The ÄAU corp. has been contacted and refuses to release any information about their drilling operations.

The search for a home beyond Kerbin may or may not be in the future. Who knows how far ÄAU corp. has traveled in the Bolar System. The fear running through many of the employees of the United Space Program veins. Preparations for interplanetary travel will start as soon as Doodrick lands.

Very nice! I like the way this is coming along. I get what you mean now by Joovan Moons, I just didn't know if you wanted to base it off of Jupiter or not, that's all ^^

It seems that with ÄAU Corp. interfering the USP may have troubles in the future...

Thanks man! I was just chillin' in Algebra 2 and we were talking about Logarithms, E, and Tau, so I chose the symbol Ä (pronounced tau) and replaced the 'T' in Tau to get ÄAU. Hope to have the 3rd mission log out on Friday, but I have an Algebra 2 test to study for on Thursday, but I'll keep working on designs and story lines.

The dilemma with the ÄAU Corp. has been put on hold as no direct evidence is accepted by ÄAU Corp. as viable. The United Space Program is on way of development on interplanetary travel. The first launch for the Jool Transport Space Station (JTSS) of the engine component.

After the JTSS engine component is put into a 79 km orbit, the next component goes up. The JTSS habitation module. After a smooth accent the module is attached to the engine.

With the up and coming launch of the first crew to Jool, interplanetary communications are necessary. The first interplanetary communication satellite is launched.

After a few days of observing the actions of ÄAU Corp, with no strange activities noted, it seems that the ÄAU Corp may not be responsible for the drilling probe. If so, then the question is... Who?
