Space Station Contract

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Loving the new Station Contracts and am about to build a 9 Kerbal Station. Now, i understand the lab counts towards the 9 Kerbal count. But do i have to put the station up in one piece? Or can i assemble it piece by piece and still get the contract done? i plan to put a command capsule and science lab first and then add the Habitation modules in the second launch. Is it possible? Also if i have a station with say 3 Kerbals prior to the contract, can i just add 6 more Kerbal spaces and get the contract done?

thx in advance

Generally speaking, you will need to launch a new craft to complete a contract. I.E. you have to have accepted the contract before you launch your ship.

Now, I do believe I've heard rumors of docking a new modules to an existing station and having that count, somehow, as a new station. I don't know the details of this though, so someone else may be able to enlighten you.

Based on your question, I may be able to save you some trouble in constructing these going forward.

You can send the whole thing up as a probe without any kerbals at all! The station only has to be habit"able" for 9 Kerbals, etc. Not "inhabited by".

And it doesn't have to be stationary, it can be a ship as they are basically the same.

If you plane to go to Duna for example don't hesitate to pick up an Duna station mission on the side. As long as your interplanetary ship meets all other station requirements it will complete that contract too.
