Escape key doesn't work anymore

The escape key has stopped working. I have been in a career game for a few days and it was working fine, but now the escape key won't pause the game or let me out of a flight to revert or save. I have to alt+tab, then shut down and restart the game, thus losing progress again.

It might be that the key binding was inadvertantly changed.

Edit the settings.cfg with a plain text editor (like notepad) and look for the following:

PAUSE
{
	primary = Escape
	secondary = None
	group = 0
	modeMask = -1
	modeMaskSec = -1
}

If that's correct, also check and make sure your ALT key isn't sticking. Sometimes Unity thinks the ALT key is down, even if it isn't. You can tap on it a couple times and that usually resets it.

If that doesn't work, then please upload a log file. Perhaps you are running into some other error that is preventing the game from responding.

One question: Do you have other software running in the background? Because for instance Photoshop hijacks the Escape button no matter what other app or game you are using.

Just checking if "Esc" button malfunctioning on first orbit attempt in 1.0 career isn't a feature . Apparently, it isn't.

Teamviewer was forwarding my key combinations.

I had a setting set to "on" which was forwarding my key combinations. I turned that off and started the game back. It worked.
It's probably that another program is taking away the key combos as mentioned above in this post. Killing other apps which seem to do this might do the trick.
