proper file for .bat?

one time while playing minecraft, in an attempt to get it to detect proper java for a .bat file, I changed it to open with a java thing(through control panel) and now I can't turn it back. please help! I'm on windows 8.1.

delete minecraft and re download it, should fix the problem.

I do not think that has much to do with each other.

From your desktop, open the File Explorer, find your file, Right-click on the file's icon... select Properties from the list... look for the Opens with option and click on the Change button... the rest you should be able to figure out (select which program you want to open/execute the file with).

Hint: the program you want is probably cmd.exe. May be called something like "command prompt" or something like that.

well the problem is, it is currently all .bat files, open with java.
