Kerbal Truck Simulator 2015: KMC M2 King Cab & Flatbed!

Recommended Posts

SCS Software, the creators of Euro Truck Simulator 2 made an April Fool's post about Kerbal Truck Simulator, so I replied with a

sometime earlier this month.

I took some time today to clean up the KMC M2 craft files so they are sharable.

Two variants of the M2 electric truck are offered:

1) Crew Cab

This is an all purpose configuration with a self-contained sleeper module, fuel tanks to service aircraft or small rockets, and a short bed strong enough to serve as a rocket launch pad. Feel free to modify the truck to any configuration you desire or use the chassis for other purposes.

2) Flatbed

The flatbed can accommodate 5 meter payloads and is tested up to 8 tons with Tim Yam's custom cat command module.

A bit too small for my liking, if supposed to be lorry-size.

If i wanted to build a lorry, i would take the european lorry considering Euro TS came before American TS, and because i live in Europe.

Then i have some "fun" trying to find a picture of a lorry next to a regular car, side by freaking side.

Best i could find, which is good considering i already have a Citroen-like vehicle in KSP.

Then take one of my regular cars i built in KSP and build from there.

And smaller size lorries are about a 650 I-beam taller than a Van.

Yes the M2 is ridiculously small, but scales well to the size of the Kerbals themselves. I do intend to build a semi truck with working 5th wheel hitch next, and that one will be much larger as I intend to follow the American sleeper cab template :) I am just wondering what to put inside the (huge) engine cowl as I am not using any internal combustion engine mods at the moment.

Maybe a radial propeller engine to see a spinning fan inside, for lulz.

@Nik_601 - really good designs! I will definitely take some inspiration and use more stock parts. Your O2 copters are great as well, simulating ducted fan appearance with the big SAS modules.
