Missing Textures (White Models)

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to fix this problem for a while now, and cannot seem to find the cause, nor a way to fix it. The new IVAs, landing gear, mining parts and surveying equipment are all plagued by the lack of textures. No mods are conflicting with stock textures, and no files were removed. I would like to know a way to fix this issue. (Note: I have tried using "Verify integrity of game cache.")

To diagnose this problem:

- Make a list of the parts whose textures are missing

- Go into KSP_win\GameData\Squad\ and find the folders corresponding to each part

- See if there are texture files (DDS, MBM or PNG) in said folders

Also, did you download a fresh copy of the game completely from scratch, or did you update it through Steam?

I'm seeing the same thing, and it happens with nearly all parts when the game first loads the VAB scene.

So far, I have found that it can be fixed by opening the debug menu (Alt-F12), going to the database tab, and clicking Reload All. This has to be done in a scene where the button is enabled, such as the spaceport scene. This reloads the textures and everything shows up fine again, until the next restart, then I have to repeat the process.

I have stock KSP installed through Steam on a secondary drive. Steam is also installed on this secondary drive.

Well, thanks for the help sumghai and puhnitor! By looking through texture files, I remembered that I had Active Texture Management installed. It appears that it breaks the textures of a lot of parts, and should be uninstalled. Once again, thank y'all for the help!
