An epic journey to the mun and back with an SSTO spaceplane [1.0.2] *UPDATE: GOING INTERPLANETARY*

So I got this thing into orbit on my 2nd or 3rd try and had still loads of fuel, so I decided to head for the Mun, and got it there in one piece. Well, ok, I reloaded once after a failed landing but who's counting

So here we are on the Mun:

Fuel is running low but that will have to do for the trip home.

Accelerating...

And we have liftoff!

Man they really didn't waste any money on excess fuel...

I have a feeling we might be coming in too steep...

Please hold it together

The spaceplane doesn't explode but it spins out of control and I can't get it back.

Sorry guys, it's been an honor flying with you.

It could probably use a few reaction wheels to make it more maneuverable in space.

Yeah, long range SSTO's are not impossible in 1.0.x KSP. they are just a lot different then they used to be. Nicely done on this craft dfg26. Paving the way for the new generation of SSTO's.

I like the combo of Rapiers and LV-N's on the craft. Keeps it from needing more then one type of fuel. Nicely done there.

After some tweaking I got this to orbit with over 3600m/s left. So I decided to head for Eve.
