Lat/long grid on planetary bodies in Map View?

Recommended Posts

If there's one thing this game lacks for me, and I've noticed this lack since the first time I played it over 2 years ago, it's the fact that "Map View" isn't a very good "map" at all. Even setting aside the complete lack of named landmarks, continents, bodies of water (or whatever passes for liquid oceans on Eve and Laythe), you simply cannot zoom in close enough for detailed mission planning and $KERBAL_DEITY-forbid you want to do anything on the night side of a planetary body - fuhgettaboutit!

One thing that would go an incredibly long way past this would be a mod that overlays a simple lat/long grid in Map View to allow more accurate - and dare I say "realistic?" - navigation and mission planning. and would help immeasurably on dark-side missions even without continent outlines (or crater/canyon outlines for vacuum bodies).

So if any mod-maker feels this lack as acutely as I do, please consider this request for a mod like this. Thanks!

Lat Long grid in map view would be fantastic, as would the ability to overlay Scansat results as contour lines
