Oceanic Exploration?

Recommended Posts

Is this a thing?

Or did I just totally miss this.... I am a noob so forgive me if I did.

As far as Im aware we can dump probs and robots onto planets and moons.

But is there provision for exploring bodies of water?.

Water types, temps, Depth and so on...

Just curious.

Not really, other than there being biomes for the bodies of liquid around. There aren't any dedicated boat parts (though some players are quite clever at bending other parts to the purpose), and exploring underwater is difficult and dangerous.

IMO this could/should be Squads next project. Kerbal Oceanic Program... I posted a suggestion a while back. This would be a great standalone that would compliment KSP very well.

I watched 'The Abyss' last night and made me want it even more.

Wait, you CAN go underwater?

I remember quite a while ago there was a thread or challenge on seeing how far you could get under water, and I think the best part for the job ended up being the large orange fuel tanks to weigh you down, but I'm not entirely sure on that part.

Grab one of the new mk three parts, some of them sank in 0.90.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
