Version 1.0 feature complete?... what about courage and stupidity?

Sorry if this has been mentioned!

As of 1.0 KSP is no longer a Beta but is now the complete game. So what happened with courage and stupidity stats? They still serve no function and appear to be an unfinished part of the game.

As I say, this may have been covered but I've not seen an explanation. Perhaps it's a mechanic reserved for a later addon?

Either Squad has decided that there isn't a compelling use for them (they existed long before crew XP, which may have replaced them), they are intended to remain flavor elements without gameplay impact, or Squad may implement some use for them in a later patch. You could make the same argument for "Why is Ore the only resource?" I don't expect 1.0 is the last version that will ever be released, so some bits may still be forthcoming.

Aside from the whole emotion system, yeah theres no function.

I believe that all they do at the time is affect how their expressions react to outside stimuli. They do something, just not much.

I was under the impression that IS the function. The Courage+Stupidity combination determines what sort of animations the Kerbal portraits will get.

KSP is not feature complete. As Squad has stated numerous times, they called this release 1.0 because it was "scope complete". This is completely different from feature complete. This version had everything they had originally planned for the game. Plans change over time and even though they finished what they originally wanted in the game, there are still more features to come including multiplayer.

As said above, I'm pretty sure these stats are mostly about the facial animations. But to me they also add to the flavor of what it means to be a kerbal in a space program - this is their version of "the right stuff".
