Intersect nodes with target vessel don't seem to update no matter what I do

I put a maneuver right on our orbit tangent, a spot both of us will pass. With the other ship targeted it shows an intersect node with the distance at intercept. I try setting the maneuver to lengthen the orbit, that distance never changes. I try actually burning there, that distance never changes.

How do I get KSP to display the distance (inline or angular) between our two vessels at the next intercept node(s)? I figure I have to be doing something wrong, I just can't figure out what. If googling intercept node kerbal map and variants gets anything useful I missed it.

KSP only calculates one orbit ahead. That means that if your interception is in the next orbit behind the waypoint it won't update. If it is in front it will update. A simple workaround is to place another maneuver node on the opposite side of your orbit to look half an orbit ahead.

That's it. Thank you! I was sure I put this in Gameplay Questions, if it gets moved there I'll mark this as the answer.
