I'm still getting contracts for Pol in my early career. Can I fix this without restarting?

I believe this is one of the fixes in patch 1.01. However, I assume since I started career mode in 1.0, my save still has Pol marked as visited. Is the fix as simple as just editing my persistence file? I'm not very familiar with these things.

From 1.01 changelog:

* Doing science at the flagPOLe, the north POLe, or the south POLe, will no longer mark Pol as visited with the progress tracker.

You'll have to edit your save file and look in the progress tracker. Delete the entries that mention Pol and that should clear it up. You might also have to go cancel the contracts (ingame) afterward.

The bug fix will only prevent it from happening in the future.

Thanks, I had the same problem. I got some science from a bugged section of the Mun with the polar sciences and I completely forgot about it. I hope it is fixed now.

Btw, I cringe everytime I look inside the persistence files.

Yep, just remove Pol's section from the ProgressTracking section of your save file. It will not be added again until you...actually visit Pol.

persistent.sfs is the save that the game uses. The current state of your universe when you last exited KSP is in that. You'll need to edit it, and any save that you may want to load.
