Low-tech science... roller

The new version changed the tech tree, and the task of constructing a simple rover has became rather difficult.

But nothing is impossible: using Mk1 Lander Can and 8 Advanced Inline Stabilizers you can make an inexpensive and reliable "roller" for science gathering on the Mun and Minmus

When the batteries eventually run out of power, you'll need to stop and recharge them. It won't take much time.

It can go pretty fast, too:

After all, who needs wheels?

The first version was created with 12 Mystery Goo units and 12 2HOT Thermometers, but if it's going to be manned by scientist, you'll need only one of each kind.

Also, the Material Labs on the sides could be useful.

The second version have only one Mystery Goo container and no MechJeb, only stock parts.

Used with KerbalJointReinforcement mod, I don't know whether it will fall apart without it.
