Unable to Do On-The-Rails Warp Near Jool

For some reason, when i am less than 1000 km from Jool, I am unable to do on the rails warp. The game always says my craft is under-acceleration even though it is not...

I tried disabling all reaction wheels etc... but it doesnt seem to fix the problem until i physics warp far enough away, then on-the-rails warp works.

Any ideas?

I have the same "problem". I think, under 1000 km, the craft IS under acceleration (or deceleration). I saw my periapsis slowly goes down (very very slowly...), maybe cause of the atmosphere? I know the wiki says the atmosphere begins at ~140 km, but it has certainly changed (at ~198 km, my ship exploded due to overheat).

Wiki is outdated. Jool's atmo begins at 200Km (from ingame data and tests). In 1.0.2, I can timewarp on rails anywhere over 200Km high.

Weird. Like DoToH said, I think the atmosphere begins at 200 km so this shouldnt be happening...

Sometimes, i am able to time warp though near Jool above 200km, but lately, not at all...

Yes, Jool's new atmosphere starts 200km up, meaning you need to be careful when aerobraking.

Yep I had the same issue with my first Jool probe. Worked on it for a while, but couldn't get around it. So I physics-timewarped until the probe snapped out of its funk, somewhere around 2,000 km for me.

Tidal forces maybe? Was it a long rocket pointed more or less directly at or away from the center of Jool?

Yep. I have just encountered the same problem. Had to wait for 5-10 minutes or so. Thankfully, it did let go at 1000km.

This is a bug and has been reported and confirmed. Hopefully it will get fixed in the next update cycle. It only seems to affect ships that are in approximately equatorial orbits, not polar orbits. But yeah, if you're below 1Mm near Jool, the game refuses to let you warp.

And hopefully they'll do something about those stupids impossible aerobreakings with less useless heatshield and ships not exploding at 198 000m.
