Are shuttles easier or more difficult to make after 1.0?

I kinda gave up the last time i tried when it was the old aero soup

Harder to make, easier to fly. The aerodynamics make flight for a well built shuttle very easy, however building a proper shuttle with a good TWR and delta V and still look and behave somewhat like a shuttle and carry a cargo worthy of a shuttle is pretty hard to do with the weaker engines and lack of decent SRB's.

I had made scaled- down shuttles in previous releases and they would make orbit with heavier payloads but were tougher to fly.

1.02 has nerfed the parts to where a practical shuttle is much harder to make, but is easier to fly once you've made it.

Hopefully they'll fix the drag problem with the Mk.3 parts to where a practical shuttle is feasible. It's a shame that they have all these shuttle parts but you can't make a decent working shuttle with them.

The big SRBs are just a little too weak, the orange tank is too small, the Mk.3 parts are too bulky and draggy, and the main engines don't have quite enough gimbal authority.

I built a decent replica shuttle, but wasn't able to make it actually *shuttle* anything.

I bet a Mk.2 mini-shuttle would work with BACCs and the orange tank...
