I'm here to show-off my (at last, successful) concorde recreation. Uses Airplane Plus parts, kerbal foundry and whiplash engines. Oh, and procedural wings.

Can fly for ~4500 km at a cruising altitude of ~16km and 777 m/s. Carries  3 crew, 3*16 = 96 passengers. Built for Kerbinside Remastered long-distance passenger flights.  Take-off speed is ~85 m/s with a very heavy rotation to almost 30 degrees - absolutely needs leading edge flaps/droops to be at all be fliable near takeoff/landing. Must hold in place and spool up engines to 110 kN before disengaging brakes. Almost its entire trailing edge is elevons with 1 small flap to still provide some help. I tried more flap area but turned out I lacked pitch authority like that. Like, I gotta set them to delfection 1 to be able to control under 220 m/s

Needs power almost until touchdown, she's a horrible glider under 200 m/s. Thankfully, touchdown speed is just under 100 m/s. Could probably go for higher if you optimized glide slope but under 110 m/s, control authority is too low for me to feel comfortable and given spool up time, you can't even abort at that speed.  Fortunately, she stops pretty fast once engines are cutoff and airbrakes are deployed.

Wing strength is 0.5. Uses 2 rudders like the real deal.

Am I right to assume that "mindblowing resolution screenshots" may kill my several years old laptop?

While doing the screenshot for the BV 144 I had about 6 fps iIrc...

Anyway, old screenshot key was F12 (default), new one is numpad 5. Accidentally pressed F12, and forgot to wait till the stuff disappeared again.

EDIT: And btw: I cant even open .cfg files... so I cant change anything in settings.cfg (unless there is an in-game option to do that)

about the .cfg files, have you tried opening them with notepad?

(Repost from the WIP thread, I think it's more appropriate to ask the question here)

TL ; DR: Does anyone have the YF-23 control surface settings on hand? :D

Hello everyone!
I've been working on a jet fighter for three years now, and the latest problem I've encountered is really bothering me. I'm trying to make something with the aerodynamics of a brick (I see you, F-4 Phantom) at least decently maneuverable.
So far, yaw and pitch are no problem, but roll is... slow, to say the least.
As the main wing is very similar to that of the YF-23 (despite the front canards, I know...), I thought I'd use this aircraft - a real one, for once - as a basis for the elevon settings.

Here are the specs and current control surface settings, and I'm not sure this is the most relevant.

The design is done, and apart from a few tweaks here and there, I'm mainly trying to improve the settings, nothing else.

Ok I'm just stupid.
Here's what I saw while testing :

Here's what it should be
https://1drv.ms/v/s!AtylFJmePVdBjLgJcJbTgvyhkVB-dA?e=0Rv2M4

The difference ? Setting the Max Delta-time per physics frame at 0.12 instead of 0.02. Surprinsigly, it works better when the system isn't running at 50%.
As a bonus I can cook on my CPU now. :D;.;

Works great now :

Is there a methodology somewhere on how to configure dynamic deflection?
I haven't found anything on the forums and, apart from testing all the control surfaces and limiting them to the edge of the stall, I don't really have any idea how to proceed.
