My laptop and desktop are on the same wifi, but my desktop won't connect to KSP forums. It gives me a "This webpage is not available" and under that is says "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED"

and clicking more details gives this:

"The server at forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network.

Access a cached copy of http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum.php

Go to http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/

Search on Google"

Like I said, it works fine on my laptop. And it worked fine on my desktop. I was on the forums on my desktop, my wifi cut out for a second, and when it came back and I reloaded the forum, this error started coming. Please help, I use the desktop for forum browsing while gaming.

This typically happens to me whenever a power surge comes around. Either bad gateways from the server itself or your service (At&t) I presume, in which can have very poor connections between two servers. Test your ping @: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ Other than that, it isn't computer related its either the forum network and/or both :) Trust me I feel your pain sometimes.

-----Edit------

And about that firewall thing, check your settings in google chrome and make sure your firewall is public ;)

I swear, there is some kind of voodoo magic on every power button. Works miracles on my personal machines and the FTC robot.

BEST JOKE 2015. Now if only we can fix that autonomous ;)

-----Edit-----

Yeah Endersmen it was probably that, your internet was I right? AT&T if so you have the same problem I have, even though we have the upgraded bandwidth plan and all that stuff.

No I didn't even do that....I literally did nothing. I just waited like 5 minutes and then tried again and it works fine now. Crazy.

Windows can cache IP addresses associated with a given domain name; whether the desktop had the old version in cache, there was an update at your local dns server, or an act of god; we don't know.

Typically in these errors, once you have the IP, nothing else matters.
