For The Stealthiest...

I want in, too! :)

*Construction in Progress*

Wow, Starwhip! So stealthy that I didn't see your post until today! Tip- post a stealth craft to gain 5 points in F-19!

ASL it goes in a slow loop and eventually crashes, but at 10,000m it just is very hard to keep level, that is, when you even touch the keys, it jumps all over, and you have to constantly correct for the twitchiness.

Now that is a Wobblin Goblin. Good luck flying that monster, you'll certainly need it!

Good, good. :) Remember, you can get points from having a .4 TWR, and for having a top speed of 275 @ 10Km. Try getting rid of those turbos! Also, I've added you to Skunkworks.

Nah, it's got so much drag that the 6 turbos don't even get it to mach and is about fine at 300ish m/s

What sort of leeway is there for the speed?

Say 5 m/s either way. But remember, there is a penalty for going faster than 290 m/s! I might change that, though. The Wiki page is unclear about the max and cruising speeds. When you post your entry, state its max and cruising speeds in case of a rules change. I don't want to have to retroactively change rules, but realism is key here. :huh:

Yeah, that's what I was getting, too.

Ya know what? I'm going to runs some tests in KSP to see what Mach .92 is at various heights. Good thing I've got an F-104 to help me!

I'll be right back.

Ok.

100m = 325 max

500m = 320 max

2000m = 313 max

3500m = 305 max

5000m= 300 max

7000m = 285 max

8500m = 275 max

11000m = 275 max

Seeing as the speed at 10000m is ~275 m/s, I'm inclined to keep the max speed the same. What I will do is clarify the scoring a bit:

Be subsonic in level flight @ 10 Km

Max Speed @ 10 Km is 275 m/s (+15)

Cruising speed @ your cruising altitude is 275 m/s (+15)

Speed Limit: During level flight @ 10 Km, go faster than 295 m/s (-10)

Definitions: Level Flight is flying with +/- 10 m/s vertical speed

Operations @ 14 Km means taking no more than 30 seconds to do a 180 horizontal turn

Right. I have made it legal now and designed 2 weirdly orientated bombs. Pics soon.

Javascript is disabled. View full album

Scoring... again xD

Carry one crew member maximum (+100)

Have a CH-J3 Fly-By-Wire Avionics Hub (+50)

Be able to operate at 14,000 m (+70)

Max and Cruise speeds are the same (+40)

JDAM: Design a pair of unpowered, guided bombs to work with your plane (+10)

I'll let you off with a warning: Use a turbojet (-60)

Speed Limit: During level flight @ 10 Km, go faster than 295 m/s (-10) (annoying thing is it is just past that and tops out at 300 m/s...)

200 if I can count :/

Added! Yes, you can count. I'd love to give you back those few extra points, but what good are rules if I keep bending them?

You have 200 points, third place, and the best replica I've seen yet.

Who can beat him?

Also, Burnout, why not try limiting the thrust from the turbos slightly so that you don't lose points for going too fast?

I thought about that but concidering it wasn't built for the soul purpose of this challange (a birthday pack is coming out this Saturday for SHA) I want it to perform the best I can make it.

Hold up. I've been making lots of replicas recently (I have....6 in about a week)

I'm very much adding this to the list. Both for my American Planes Pack, and for this challenge. Hold on to your hats, fellas. :P

Just kidding, I'll probably fail miserably XD

A friendly reminder that all posters who announce their desire to participate and include a stealth plane which is not a prototype of their entry are awarded 5 extra points.

Bleargh, I'm forced to use my old computer to do this one. The performance drop of i7 to Pentium... :(

No pretty screenshots...

Oooh, ouch. That stinks. Still, pics or it didn't happen :)

I'll start participating as soon as Jeb stops drinking and blowing up the planes. Pleasing but not effective.

Jeb doesn't drink! Other than that, spot on.

It's not the best looking... There should be points out of 100 for that imho.

Well, not everybody is as good at making replicas as you are. But if you can switch the points around, and post the details here, I'll consider adding it.

How am I still in second? C'mon guys, let's get this goin'!

I'm starting to think that a new entry is in order from none other than... Dman979! A picture is a picture! *shrugs*

You mean, if I wait till it's totally done before posting it here, I get 5 points?
