Promotion of Kerbals / Hall of Fame / Retiring

We ALL love our Orange-Suits Jeb, Bill, Bob and Val. No one likes killing them (Maybe Bill and Bob, but that's just me

Even with our dime-a-dozen White-Suits, we still have our favourites.

Wouldn't it be something to be able to promote White Suits into Orange Suits given sufficient experience to join the Elite? Also, promoting Orange Suits into "Business Suits" to be the future Administrators of the Kerbal Space Program?

Another point would be that Kerbals should retire after a number of years, needing you to level certain Pilots/Engineers/Scientists to fill empty positions, giving you certain benefits based on their Courage/Stupidity/Badassery

Heres an idea on what retired kerbals could do for your Space program.

PR stuff or release a book for a quick boost of Reputation/funds?

Diminishing returns on that of course, the public would get weary of seeing the same face trot out on the stage over and over. IDK if that would make gameplay any better.
