kerbal command seat help

Forgive this totally noob style question but how can I get my kerbal to sit in the command chair pod? I get my kerbal onto the rover but no matter what i try I cant get him to sit, so every time the rover moves he falls off!

While controlling your Kerbal right click the seat and select Board.
