Trying to figure out topics to cover for KSP tutorial series.

Hello everyone!

So for the past... long time, I've had a Fraps account, I've got a rig that's up to the challenge, and I've got a good microphone to do some KSP and other gaming videos. I've done some in the past, but they were just fun little projects, nothing quite as daunting as a tutorial series.

I just wanted to ask for input on how best I could cover it. Of course, things can be rearranged, but here are some basic notes I've compiled:

Topics

  • Basic Construction (what rockets need, the extreme basic to land Kerbals alive)
  • Terminology (Delta-V, TWR, orbital mechanics lingo)
  • How to Pilot Crafts (using hotkeys for thrust, how pitch/yaw/roll work)
  • How to Pilot Spacecrafts/ Orbital Mechanics (same as above, but in space)
  • Advanced Construction (Fuel lines, struts, difference of engines)
  • Advanced Advanced Construction (Root/offset/angle buttons, fairings)
  • How to Land Stuff (Landing on the Mun, primarily)

So this is the list I have so far, and I do plan on adding variants on these videos to make rovers and spaceplanes and stuff like that. Maybe even SSTOs once I figure the blasted things out.

What do you think so far? I'm aiming to have videos under 15 minutes in length so people aren't watching them forever. Should some of the list be compressed, broken apart? What things do you want me to cover?

maybe look at contracts, there are some about space stations, rescuing kerbals, puting a satellite in a specific orbit, the kind of things that are challenging to new people but are also contracts they would run into quite early in the game.

Good suggestion. I see an entire episode on contracts and how that works...

- Stability, why it makes sense to be heavy up top vs heavy at the bottom.

- The Pendulum Fallacy.

- Gravity turning. Why it happens, how to do it right

Well... These are literally all covered by the topics of how to fly spacecrafts and such.
