Discreet (not just aircraft anymore) Parts. (Updated 21-06-15)

Recommended Posts

Hi, great parts ElectronicFox. Just what the Kerbal ordered, little problem here...no texture on the electric prop unit and the airship wont deploy i.e. there is no right click option to deploy the gas bag in either the SPH or when loaded on the runway.

I am running stock KSP with only kerbal engineer, module manager(2.65) and on-screen protractor installed. Any thoughts anyone?

I might have forgotten to mention that HooliganLabs airship plugin is dependant on the toobars plugin. That one totally slipped my mind.

As for the lack of texture, that one is beyond me but I'll look into it.

Do you use any other mods? When you turn on the aerodynamics visualisations is there definately no lift when they're deployed?

Yes. It seems as though there is a zero listed for the deflectionLiftCoeff value.

Ah. I just tried a test aircraft and it flew. Somehow- there is no blue lift indicator in the hangar. Any plans for larger folded wings?

Ah right, the lift indicator should update in the hanger, but only when the wings are extended.

I am planning on bigger wings for 2.5m parts, maybe for 3.75m too.

Your orbital frame is awesome already. More deployables will only add to that. Everyone knows mechs get their power from secret folding parts.

Exactly, when i try to fly it using GN Drives Antigrav Function and just pure thrust it tilts downwards in atmosphere, so i was thinking of adding an IR Sequence where the legs fold back, the cockpit Tilts up a bit and then have two hidden wings unfold from the Legs. so it actually has some form of air stability.

This mod is amazing, Don't stop doing what you do, Because its seriously some of the coolest stuff!

Edit: I remember you did the Original Track mod, that i used to use a tonne in the older KSP versions, Mounted it on my first mecha, and used it as a crane. it was the hypest!

Edit2: If you ever need help in a way i can provide, please. feel free to ask, i help with craft issues. and i do free Mod testing.

Hi electronicfox, is it possible to get some sort of version number in the thread title? Itll be way easier to figure out if there are changes made. :)

A version number would imply that I know what I want for the end of this, in reality I'm making it up as I go. I'll use dates instead.

Thats fine by me, just some sort of time line. :)

I knew I forgot something. Source is now available in the project files. http://kerbal.curseforge.com/ksp-mods/231278-discreet-parts/files

I know it sometimes takes Curse a while to approve new files, but are you sure you actually published (or made public, or whatever the operation is) the source?

Also: slick treads!

It seems the source was rejected by Curse (invalid archive), I have uploaded to my Dropbox, the link is on the OP.

Nice track, can't wait!! On a side note I noticed a small bit of lag with the pre-release parts but I know that is mostly my fault. Had 8 motors and 4 airship parts all deploying at once, lol.

Keep up the good work man.

I havent tested with many airship parts, but I know the propellers are prone to lag when 5 or 6 deploy at once (I'm not sure what craft you have that needs that many, but I congratulate you). Once the animation is finished the lag will cease. I'm not sure what specific data in the animation is so intensive, but I plan to track it down and reduce that lag.
