  1. 1. What would you want in the planet pack?

    • more moons
    • more planets
    • "lagrange point" moons/planets
    • rings
    • cubic planetary system
    • more moons around stock planets
    • other, and just post a comment asking for what you wish.

I tried Erath, It is VERY spikey! I can't really land on it that well. It has a thin blue atmosphere. Wish it weren't smaller than the spiky mountains.

Currently sticking with just testing instead of dedicating my time to creating. Hopefully soon I will be able to create a good planet/mun

I'm really scared to tag The White Guardian in any questions/messages cause I'm scared he might just leave like he said if we tag him any more. D:

You misread my comment. You can tag me, just don't ask for updates every day. I'm almost finished with Mysterio, currently I've made the following file structure:

AstroPlanets/MysterioSystem

AstroPlanets/SharedTextures

The folder MysterioSystem contains three folders, Cache, Configs, and PluginData, while the SharedTextures folder contains stuff like rings or surface textures.

Pretty good...

I'm just wondering about how the VertexRidgedAltitudeCurve PQS mod works (if it even is a PQS mod that still exists, according to pg 2 of this thread).

I heard it worked on stuff like OPM's Slate, but I don't know if kopernicus uses that mod anymore, let alone how to use it (i.e. the code behind it).

Not yet ProtoJeb. I'm just going to wait until we get the updated configs, then I will try to get pics of everything. I may end up redoing some of the planets to make them more stock-a-like. The Space Engine textures don't give that much of a stock feel, and I will try to make the planets as stock-a-like as possible.

@Astrofox I would make the atmosphere fizz out in a way for the planets, because the planets atmospheres are dark blue in space and don't fizz out in a way. And then once you land it just turn into a dark/bright ( I say that because I haven't tested it too much cause I can really only test 1 mun and 3 planets ) red. @The White Guardian might be able to fix it though, you obviously don't need to ASAP just some feedback when some of the important stuff is done.

Then use no heightmaps but instead use Kittopia + PQSMods. It's guaranteed to give a stockalike feel because it's made with KSP's engine.

  • 3 weeks later...

this looks interesting, is there a planet i could make? I'm not the best with Kopernicus but i can try or someone could refine it. just tell me what you want because i have never had an original idea in my life :sticktongue:

EDIT: the no original ideas thing does not mean space engine planets. i don't have access to space engine (because mac)

I'm hoping we switch to procedural generation

Hmm... I could do that, but that'd mean remaking the entire pack. Although that does mean that I'll get the work done faster, it does mean that I'll practically be remaking the entire pack, and thus I'd like to discuss this with @Astrofox first.

Well, there are certain worlds that I'd like to see as procedural, but most of the pack must be fairly concrete.

Maybe we could make several of the moons procedural. (In fact, I think we should make Kosarn (moon of Dres) a bit less 'flat', therefore we can add another world that has that kind of smoothness to the Jool system, or something like that)

But still, I'd like to keep concrete with most. Maybe the exoplanets can have procedural moons, and maybe even procedural surfaces (thinking about it - after all, they are exoplanets).

The rest should be concrete. Exoplanets and certain moons are exceptions to this though.

Of we can make Lava oceans procedural (along with landforms) on Tyrok, then maybe we can make Tyrok procedural due to the fact that it's a volcanic moon (maybe we can find out how to make procedural volcanoes?).
