Closing the intakes

In 1.0.2, closed intakes seem to induce the same amount of drag as open ones do.

So is there any other reason to bother closing the intakes?

I don't know where you get that information from but as i see it when you close the intake it creates atleast %80 less drag. You can see the drag amount when you right click the intake.

IntakeAir is heavy, and closing the unused intakes with fast craft will help a little bit with max speed, acceleration and DeltaV, but I didnt see any drag difference yet.

Nope. The drag numbers shown for an intake are left-over from pre-1.0 and are now meaningless. Drag is not reduced by closing intakes now, so don't bother.

If you want to see the actual drag and that it does not change then use Alt-F12 and on the Physics>Aero tab select Display Aero Data in Action Menus. On right clicking an intake you will now get the old Drag values and lower down a new one, which is accurate and will not change with closing the intake.
