KSP Video Settings will not change!

Recommended Posts

As the title says. Changing my setting through the launcher will not work, changing the .cfg file won't make the changes I want stick. I'm simply trying to do three things: activate my terrain scatters, disable anti-aliasing and take it OFF of Kerbin time. No matter what when I boot up the game the settings default to some random configuration that I never set it to. Doing it through the game and resetting does nothing. I can't find anything about this, so I turn to the almighty forum for guidance.

I've been experiencing the same thing today, rather frustrating! Also, I am losing my joystick configuration as well as graphic settings :(

Here is my response to a similar thread with the same issue.

This is a well known bug. There is a large thread about it somewhere.

The way to fix it is this:

1) Delete the Settings.cfg in your KSP_win folder (or steam game location) this will cause the game to generate a new one with default settings

2) load up the game

3) add all the settings you want, including joystick axis

4) exit the game

5) copy the Settings.cfg file and paste it somewhere where you can easily locate it.

This way, if your settings start to bug out again, you can just delete the settings.cfg and replace it with the one you copied and saved. (Also, I think the bug starts when you plug/unplug in a joystick mid-session, I would advise to plug the joystick in before starting the game and not unplugging it during the game)

Hope this helps! :)

(ignore the parts about joysticks if you don't use them)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
