Static Recording camera

Well I was thinking about making a time lapse video of me creating my Mun base with kerbals and rovers moving everywere with a static camera in the game recording but I didn't find a mod wich can help me. Do anyone knows about a mod that can do this?

Maybe I can be able to make so coding but this is out of my range I think:(

You don't need a mod for that. A simple frame grabber like Dxtory, Fraps and alike will do. Just set them to a low recording speed and accelerate the video afterwards.

Maybe a hi-res little screen on the bottom right part of the screen that shows a static camera that has benn set before so with the correct recordong program you could récord that screen only or even use a second screen to record maybe

How about the first person EVA view mod?

You could position a Kerbal somewhere to be your "camera" and just take screen shots of his view at regular time intervals then stitch all the screen shots together to make a time lapse video. Very long winded way of doing it but it might work. All I can think of I'm afraid.

What you need and what I want is a camera that can record its field of view without the player babysitting it. Itd be very hard to control your kerbals from the camera. Which is the only thing you can do with HullcamVDS. ( look it up its worth it )

That being said what I truly want is a camera that can record its views and download the file to a folder somewhere. This way I can strap cameras all over my rockets then go back later and watch all of the film.

Yeah something like a hullcam vds camera recording into a file while you play with the normal view

CosmoBro what you're really asking for is this. Otherwise, you're essentially asking the game to render itself twice and somehow record the render that isn't being shown on the screen. That's pretty awful performance-wise

I don't know if I would say that. In the past with the LazorCam mod you could fill your screen with individual camera views. The performance hit seemed negligible. Granted I have a relatively strong pc. And... The views weren't fullscreen just a small window.

But if I could have such a camera recoding all of those views while I went on with my mission regularly that would be wonderful. I'd love to be able to go back and watch my boosters fall. I've done this with an extended loading range in the past and those Lazor cameras. Had one in the boosters and one on the ascending stage fixed on the same boosters.

So while I was burning to orbit I was able to watch the boosters fall back from both their perspective and my rockets perspective. It was quite incredible and again the performance hit wasn't noticeable.

So if I could do all that without having to worry about the camera itself or having to launch twice to get a specific shot... That'd be a game changer.

Yeah I think someone should take a look if it's possible to record all the cameras from HullcamVDS for example while you do your stuff regulary and after all the flight see them and if they are cool and share it.

Could you use a multi player server to do it?

It would be a little bit of a resource hog, but it would let you do what you need.

Yes I have thinked on that but is not the idea to keep another ksp opened and I'm looking for a more stable option if it is possible
