[Need Help] Asteroid, Mining, Ore

Recommended Posts

Last weekend i catched my first 2 asteroids in a kerbin-orbit

One class E and one class C.

Then i put an ore-to-fuel-chain on it to use them as refueling stations.

But on both rocks they say: No Ore.

I watched some how-tos and lets plays, but i cant find a solution or tips

for my circumstances.

Do i have to do scans before?

Are not all asteroids mineable?

Do i make other mistakes?

Thanks for tips/tricks/hints.

"Asteroids contain a finite amount of ore [...] There is no need to use any scanners to find out the ore concentration for asteroids, its enough to be close to it or own it." - Kerbal Wiki

And that's all I've got for you... Don't know what's wrong. Maybe you already mined all that asteroid had?

Thanks for your reply. I already read that in the Wiki.

I never mined Asteroids in 1.0x. (Did Kethane in 0.90.)

Maybe i still dont "own" them (by "sloppy" orbit)?

Maybe the grabbing unit isnt enough/right part to mine?

Maybe because i have no Ore-container on board,

i wanted to stream ore directly to the ISRU -> empty tank.

Thanks again. Lets see whats coming up more...

In an asteroid which I was mining, while the single ore tank in that ship had (mistakenly) the ore flow disabled (in the same way you can disable Lf/Ox flow in a fuel can) the excavators would mine but no ore was taken from the asteroid and nothing would reach the ISRU.
