What are the buildings I see East of KSC?

Hello everyone! While playing KSP yesterday and launching, I noticed some buildings or artificial things on an island East of the space center. I was wondering what this was, it looks very interesting, but I do not have a clue! What is it? Thanks!

Those are the remnants of a previous space centre. They are there on purpose. There's an old runway there that you can land planes on and go explore around.

There also is a KSC2 in the Badlands, above that desert to the west of the main continent in the U of mountains.

I saw some people talking about an abandoned space center; I guess that's it! Awesome, later today I'll take a plane and land there!

There are other... things... around too. Keep your eyes open as you explore the solar system.

There are several other Easter eggs on Kerbin, it is fun to just take a plane for a while and fly around finding them.

Why not simply build a plane and go out there? If your career game doesn't allow that due to a lack of tech or funds (or personal game play restrictions) do it in a new sandbox game. Just go and explore.
