ok tried the trg mode, Launch one. However when I get to the bit where it says hit the space bar to launch nothing happens and the rest of the controls are locked am I missing some thing?

There are downloads of standard letters for use with loved ones, non-KSP playing friends, teachers, bosses, just about everyone you know or could possibly know explaining that you will no longer be seen nor will you speak of anything but space for now on. We recommend that you send them out periodically. Avoids the police doing those bothersome wellness checks during aerocapture at Jool. Enjoy.

Hmm. Are you in map view, perchance? Press "m" again to leave it. If you're in docking mode, click the button that says "staging view" to go to normal controls. If you're in IVA, press "c" to leave it.

Is your throttle all the way up? If none of this works, try reverting to the VAB and building it again.

yes that did happen, now I have managed to get into space and bring him back down with a chute..... mind you he ended up in the drink
