How to level up in career mode

Recommended Posts

I found out that in career mode I can only build spacecraft that are under 18t and less than 30 parts. I assume that I need to level up to build bigger craft. But I couldn't find out how am I supposed to level up in KSP. Any help please?

Welcome aboard!

You need to upgrade your facilities to build bigger spacecraft. Upgrading the VAB will increase the part limit, upgrading the launch pad will increase your mass limit. Right click the facilities in the Space Center scene to upgrade.

Thank you so much

Something worth noting:

You have the VAB and launchpad, and the SPH and runway.. two pairs.

However these days with the ability to load craft from one into the other, you don't particularly need both.. you can take something into the SPH, turn it 90 degrees, put on radial symmetry and voila - you're editing a rocket. Send it out to the runway and launch straight up.

The only thing I'm not sure about is whether the runway would somehow take damage from that. For the sake of realism and balance I'd like to think it would, but I suspect it'd be perfectly fine with it.

Truthfully, VAB increase is more usefull than SPH increase. you can do a lot with planes with the basic building. The only issue with the runway is the basic one is not totally flat. Landing on it is kind of a rodeo, especially on your first trip...

Yes, it's less risky to drive left opf the runway and take-off from KSC grass...

Same for landing : land left of the strip and drive to it after landing to get 100% of the plane price (If you don't you only collect 98%).

upgrade of the strip is ceap though
