All SpaceM Planes - an accidental chronicle of aviation.

Recommended Posts

Long story short, I wanted to use an Xbox controller for KSP. I'd set L3 (left stick clicking in) to take a screenshot, then later decided I wanted it to operate the landing gear, but forgot to remove its screenshot binding. This gallery is the result - a chronicle of my messing around in planes!

It took a screenshot every time I used the controller to open or close the gears. I picked the best shots from my now swollen screenshot folder and put them in the gallery above.

The funny thing is I'm considering changing it back. I never document my plane outings like my rocket ones, so having these shots is nostalgic in a funny way.

:D

Maybe off topic, but I'd like to play KSP on my Shield Tablet using GameStream. But I don't really want to lug a BT keyboard and mouse around with me when I'm already carrying my Shield controller (which is basically an Xbox controller). How do you find playing KSP with a controller? Manageable? Any hints or care to share your button mappings?

I like it. It's great for landing, launching and docking and so-so (but manageable) for flight. I couldn't map Kerbal movement so rely on the keyboard for that. Finding one binding that works for everything is tricky. Here's what I use:

Left stick: pitch and yaw

L/R: roll

Right stick: move camera

D=pad: translate up/down/left/right

Left and right bumper: translate forward/back

A: Throttle down

B: Throttle up

X: Brakes

Y: SAS toggle

Left stick click: Gear toggle

Right stick click: IVA toggle

Start: pause

Select: stage
