Glitchy fairings

Recommended Posts

I am running KSP 1.0.4 and have had this odd bug ever since the fairings were introduced. and also the service bay doors have the same issue. However, when I fly these items out of the atmosphere, they are perfectly okay. I do have mods installed, but I first encountered this bug back when 1.0.0 first came out and I was still 100% stock.

It looks much like it doesn't know if it should be transparent or not, and it affects only the fairings and heat shield shrouds. Any ideas?

Haven't seen this one before, fairings work fine for me (heavily modded x86_64 on Debian Jessie).

Posting OS / Hardware specs might shed some light, particularly GPU/driver details. Logs too.

You might also try disabling edge highlighting fx in settings, as IIRC it's known to be broken on some GPUs.

Looks like you have multiple fairings attached, and they are z clipping. Try pulling off the fairing base and setting the symmetry option back to one (instead of four) and see if that helps.

Sometimes the editor will attach symmetric parts even though you are attaching to a single node.

Cheers,

It's not z-fighting, I tried taking them off and reattaching them, and it makes no difference, also it happens with the shrouds that appear around the base of the heat shields when a decoupler is attached to them, and also the service bay doors have the same issue. However, when I fly these items out of the atmosphere, they are perfectly okay.
