Game hangs from hanger

when I try to launch anything from the hanger the game hangs and becomes un-responsive. cant click anything and have to force shut down ksp. also cant seem to save anything in the hanger either.

<edit> I tried reinstalling game, verifying cache integrity, and a new save. no help. <\edit>

<edit2> I have narrowed down the issue, it seems something in the associated save folder is messed up. When I move that save to a fresh install the problem carries over. if that save is not in a save folder ksp is fine, if it is it messes up the SPH in all other saves as well. </edit2>
