Pz.KPfw. V Panther

Designer: Zekes

Status:COMPLETED

Cost: $208,850.00

The Panther was a German medium tank deployed during World War II from mid-1943 to the end of the European war in 1945. It was intended as a counter to the Soviet T-34, and as a replacement for the Panzer III and Panzer IV.

Comes with rotating turret, simply stage. Body requires a "control from here" from one of the pods in the rear in order to operate normally. Camouflage not included.

To Operate:

You probably need to open/close the MG port to get the armor to sit. Decouple turret, then select the body control units (slightly in front of the rear fuel tanks) and control from them. Then drive a ways, switch to the turret and set it to "prograde SAS". Then go back to the body and drive around - it will turn safely up to 18 m/s. Just don't try to move the turret out of prograde follow while driving.

Comrade zekes... Was still disappointed by the turret traverse on the panther.

Therefore I took the job myself to replace the bearing with a larger yet superior system. It will probably need some revisions but I thought you could use a gift to take your tanks to the next level!

The total part count was not really changed. Just slightly more because I put in more struts to try to keep it all more structurally stable inside.

It still gets caught every now and then but is much smoother on average. The structural panels on the sides of the bearing are intersecting with the bearing and that is seeming to cause some glitchiness. Maybe you can find a way to redesign the top of the hull to allow for more space.

Do I get an honorary zokesian membership card?

Danke, and yes! You may be "Armor Advisor" for ZS. I'll test your bearing see if it causes any phantom flips....

Also, I'm working on making the Jagdpanther right now.

I fixed some of the problems that came with the last version. It does not seem to rear-up all as much now but when it does it is more violent. Silly turns super smooth though.

Sorry... I found this last version still has problems. I am working them out. I can see why this was so frustrating for you now.

Edit: I fixed a lot of the problems now. It still rears up but all in all is far more stable and the tank can even move with the turret detached fairly freely.

It does cause odd phantom forces like the original at some points. But I edited my last post which outlines what I think may be the source.

It turns great to the right but glitches when turned to the left.

Edit: SILLY ME! Its because elements in the turret itself intersected with the bearing. Silly me

Yeah, it's still happening with your turret bearing :P It's an uncurable problem with those wheels. I know my turret takes some rocking back and forth to turn but I've not once had it torque the body of the tank.

I fixed that problem. It is not incurable. It is the same bearing my Lynx tank uses and the mass of the turrets are pretty much the same.

Still needs more tweaking.
