how can we take control of a bot in a Mk3 cargo after release?

hi

question seems stupid since I can make it when it's attached on rockets: you take control of the satellite then trigger the separatron, that works ok. But when it's attached via a radial or clamp-o-tron inline a Mk3 cargo, the take control do NOT work.

May the reason be that the main vessel is itself a robot? Should the main vessel be piloted by Kerbals instead?

Both sides need a probe core. One on the main vessel, one on the part you decouple, otherwise it becomes debris.

I attached the probe to a radial attachment point. It is not correct since I get no control over it. And yes it has thrusters and batteries, but no antenna.

By take control do you mean you're right-clicking and choosing "control from here"? That only works for parts on the current craft so if you've separated/undocked, you won't get the same results for clicking on parts on the other craft. Do you know about using the [ and ] keys to switch between nearby vessels?

A picture or a more detailed description might help if the problem is something else.

Have you used a probe that has no reaction wheels and not put a seperate reaction wheels on the cargo?

If that is the case you could be able to "control" the part but not actually make it move in any direction.
