Losing contracts from save on crash

So I have had a number of crashes over the past few weeks (seems to be memory related). Never have I lost a save file but my save files in career mode have lost all the contracts (both potential and accepted). That has been frustrating, especially when I am in the middle of completing one).

Are those stored somewhere else that I could backup?

Might this be mod-related? I think I saw something similar when I added a mod in 1.0.2 (might have been that texture manager in an attempt to save memory).

Hmmm... perhaps when the game crashes it can't save properly, so some data gets corrupted and the game removes that data?
