Can I Use Fairings Without Unlocking All The Wings and Fuselage Parts?

In my current career I have the entire tech tree unlocked except for anything in the aerodynamics branch, I don’t use “space planes†so I don’t want to be bothered with sorting through wings/fuselages etc. when I am designing rockets.

However, the aerodynamic fairings are contained in the aerodynamics branch and I would like to have access to them.

Is there a way I can mod the fairings such that they show up in another branch of the tech tree?

I would recommend the "Open Tree" mods next time you play.

Sounds like you are avoiding the nodes because of the construction UI. Did you know that you can create custom part groups?

Also, the jet branch has the LF only tanks you want for when you use nukes.

As for the stated question, mods can change the tech tree. Sounds like your goal would be better meet my just editing the appropriate configuration file.
