Is there a way to disable staging for specific parts?

I have some parts that I want to activate only through action groups so I've placed those parts at Stage 0, up and out of the way.

I'd prefer that they didn't appear in the staging list at all, so the staging list isn't as big.

I don't know of any way to do this. The best I've been able to figure out is to move them to stage 0. It's annoying to me that we don't have more control over this part of the game.

There is a mod called TweakableEverything. It allows you to enable/disable staging with decouplers and docking ports.

Don't know if there is a solution for other parts.

A stock alternative is to assign all staging to action groups and remember not to use the space bar. But really now, I do what Kurld suggested.
