That sounds cool. Who are Tesla? don't they have something to do with cars? Is this about the... I'm sorry. I don't really have much to say here. *points at signature* I just HAD to post in a thread called "Ludicrous Speed."

I do know who Tesla are, yes.

Tesla's an electric car company founded by Elon Musk, who also founded SpaceX.

It doesn't sound as if Tesla's planning to have the car travel at 'ludicrous speed,' only to have ludicrous acceleration. I know I'm being pedantic, but this mode doesn't sound as if it'll increase the car's top speed, only the rate at which it reaches its top speed.

Even though this is an important step in the right direction for cars, only when a vehicle can 'go to Plaid' will I be happy...

Some things scared me in that article. Particularly this:

Finally, Musk said that Tesla is testing its 7.0 software, which will offer Tesla drivers a number of autonomous driving options. “Right now it works well if the road markings are clear,†Musk said according to MarketWatch. “But faded lines, skid marks, etc., are not easy for the computer to figure out.â€Â

I own a Mitsubishi i-Miev electric car. So, not quite the same specs as a Tesla machine, but I gotta tell ya, I love the electric cars. Next time you are in the market for a vehicle, please consider it! And kudos to them for continuing to push the boundaries of technology, they are to be admired, even if none of us can afford to buy their products.
