Are kraken drives still a thing?

ive seen lots of older videos about kraken drives and a few threads i can no longer locate, but i dont know if its still possible to make kraken drives with usable phantom forces toggled by landing gears or wheels.

anyone have some examples of ones they have made? or a proof of concept?

im not entirely sure how they work but i get the general idea, have landing legs deploy so theyre pushing into a solid part of the ship, producing an uncontrolled phantom force.

I only know the ladder-force, he was fine the last time I checked it in 1.0.2. The landing-leg version sounds like pretty much the same.
