[Excel spreadsheet] Satellite deployment calculator

Recommended Posts

I got bored to eyeball my satellite deployment orbit so I did some maths and an excel spreadsheet to do that.

You have to enter your deployment altitude and the number of satellite you want to put on this orbit and you're done, the spreadsheet gives you a periapsis for your main ship and every time you reach apoapsis you release one of your satellite and boost your periapsis, you can also choose any planet or moon in the kerbol system.

If the calculated periapsis is negative or inside the planet's atmosphere, you will need to either increase the deployement altitude or satellite count.

Inputs are in yellow, outputs in blue.

Enjoy

This is great! I really appreciate it! I was trying to do a lot of this through my own work and my maths are not to the level they need to be to get it done!

I use RemoteTech so this is invaluable, but this will be a great tool for the 1.1 update!
