XP Earned Misunderstanding

Recommended Posts

I took a bunch of Kerbals on a training mission to Minmus. Landed and had them all plant flags.

So my understand is XP earned would be

Minmus Orbit:3.75, Land:5.75, Plant: 6.25

Kerbal Orbit: 6

So I would think they should be up to level 3 with 21.75 XP.

However, they only earned 10 XP and got up to level 2.

Somewhere I don't understand something about how XP is earned.

So for Minmus you only earn the max value 6.25. Then you have Kerbin orbit 6, so you gain 12.25 for your trip (if your kerbal hasn't earned Kerbin XP yet, and I suspect Kerbin orbit doesn't have that large value - but I can't remember on top of my head)

That's actually the guide I based my trip on, but I missed the one line about "Because KXP per planet doesn't stack"

Thanks, appreciated.

Indeed, Kerbin orbit only gives 2xp. Orbiting the Sun gives 6xp
