Controlling orientation of reversed modules

Recommended Posts

How do you set your parts that need to be upside down during launch a la Apollo style command pod? My SAS perpetually flips my craft when I get to that upside down stage - what do?

If you have docking ports on them choose which one you want to be the forward facing port and right click on it and choose "control from here". Even if your craft doesn't need a docking port it can be useful to put on a clamp-o-tron jnr facing in the direction you need e.g- forward facing on rover with a vertical probe core.

I figured out what was wrong. I'm using the small nozzles which are mounted upside down compared to the rest of the rocket. The nozzles have a gimbal and they can't recognize that they are upside down even after flipping the control unit. I just shut off the gimbal and let the wheels take control.

It's not an Apollo type pod per se, it's more of a rudimentary sky crane and the rover is belly up during early stages.
