Mod idea: fairing struts

Stock fairings are pretty unattached from their payload, even interstage fairings that are closing on another part.

It is possible to add struts from payload to fairings, but it is dirty, a pain to construct and adds the need to separate struts afterwards somehow.

It would be cool to be able to add struts procedurally and the other way around (from fairing to payload). Or at least make interstage fairings really attached to parts they close on.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing something like this. Whenever I'm taking cargo up to LKO, I'll often have it attached to a docking port, and then enclose it in a fairing. Obviously, without some wonky strutting, this is a very flimsy connection, and I've lost track of how many times I've lost a ship because it wobbled and the cargo clipped through the fairing and caused the whole thing to fall apart.

Well you could use Procedural Fairings, if you keep Auto-Strut enabled the fairing will automatically give whatever is enclosed struts even though they aren't visible.

That's not what auto-struts does. According to the FAQ (https://github.com/e-dog/ProceduralFairings/wiki/FAQ):

I have auto-struts enabled, but my payload still wobbles.

Auto-struts only connect fairings together, they have nothing to do with payload. Use regular struts to fix the payload in place.

Actually, scratch that. It's not clear to me what the struts do. If you read the code, it seems like it struts the payload. If you read the FAQ, it indicates it does not.
