It is hard to even know you are moving when because of the scale of the universe interplanetary space seems dead-quiet, and while not a common happening in the universe it should be possible that in some places the space will be dusty enough to see particles wizzing by as you move. it would be cool to have a mod for it.

I agree with this, though especially near planet bodies, the gravitational forces involved would make the dust kinda unrealistic. But sure, if you could set some JS if statements for unit distances away from bodies, that could work.
