I am wondering if anyone knows if I purchase KSP and download it to my home PC can I also download it to my laptop or would I have to purchase the game twice?

You can.

And I *really* strongly recommend you don't use your email as a username. PM one of the mods and ask if it can be changed.

You would have to buy the game three times, the third to prove that you bought the first and second copy.

According to the letter of the license you may have one install. According to common practice, it is fair game to maintain multiple installs on multiple computers as long as multiple people aren't using them simultaneously.

It may also depend on the country where you live in. Different countries have different laws on what rights consumers have by default, and what kind of conditions in a license agreement are invalid.

If you care about legality: One install only

If you don't: KSP has no DRM. You can literally copy and paste your game folder and drag and drop it on another computer no problem.

And as long as you paid for the game at least once it will bother absolutely nobody. Go wild.
