How long is a piece of string? But in all seriousness, aside from just trying your own ideas, download the ones that are out there, and take them apart. If there are parts of it you like, pull it apart and see how it was done. You also need to define what constitutes a good looking tank?

For me a "good looking tank" is one that's a flaming hulk because I just blew it up... Others, most likely, will disagree
