Some Model parts not visable (Unity)

Recommended Posts

When I import my model into Unity (.dae) I notice there are some parts missing. Looking through the Hierarchy I can find the parts but there empty and joining them together did nothing but make one empty group_00 in amongst them all. The model dose have a few group sections as it needs a few colliders. I also heard you can import Blender files directly in, do I use the .blend1 .blend2 or the one that is unassociated with anything for now.

-Fix-

1. Don't use .dae

2. Make sure .blend files are linked to Blender

3. Drop and drag as normal

The use of DAE files for KSP part models is now deprecated.

Just use the .blend file.

The .blend1, .blend2 or any .blendn files are merely backups of previous versions automatically made by Blender - you don't need those.

Thanks, had to fiddle around and assign the unassociated file with Blender before it would import, before that I was getting a 'blender could not be found' error.

So happy now, no need to reassign textures with .blend files and the missing parts are loading properly.

As a point of clarification: DAE files usually import into Unity pretty well (I use them a lot), where the file format used doesn't matter so much since you're compiling to a .MU anyway. But they're definitely deprecated for using directly in KSP.
