I believe this is because other planet's atmospheres don't scale quite as nicely as kerbins and are still quite thick near the top. It's not a problem at duna because the atmosphere is so thin to begin with

Here's hoping for 1.1 someone takes ten or fifteen minutes to adjust the other planets' atmospheres as was done for Kerbin xP

Hmm, atmospheric pressure indicator doesn't seem to indicate much atmospheric pressure... I guess it's just because of speed honestly. I guess you can't make Eve atmosphere dangerous for reentry without making Jool deadly...

Well 11.5km/s is freakingly fast. I rather aerobrake at Laythe. When you're doing it right you have no more than 3km/s. But I'm still using a heatshield of course.

It's not much more than an Apollo vehicle returning to Earth so it should be survivable if the heating effects were based on reality.

Yet the game universe is tiny, making relative speeds smaller. Something has to give.
